Anaesthesia: Patient Safety and Pain Management

Anaesthesia is an important part of your orthopaedic treatment. Many of the questions and concerns patients have when they consider the possibility of surgery, are about anesthesia.

As part of your pre surgery program, you will receive a visit from one of our anaesthesiologists. In Germany Anaesthesiologists are fully qualified consultant doctors with a strong and independent role in the operating room.

Some orthopaedic procedures require only a local anaesthetic, others require a general anaesthetic. During your consultation you will have a chance to ask questions and discuss what will be the most suitable approach for you.
